Terms

Set out below are the terms and conditions by which Yellowstar Taxis conduct its business with the Passenger (the person travelling), the Booker (the person booking journeys) and Account Customer (individual(s)/business with previously agreed terms & conditions & payment who may also be the Passenger or the Booker)

Yellowstar Taxis reserves the right to vary these terms and conditions of trading without notice.

Yellowstar Taxis sets out to provide a safe reliable service to all its customers.

We will always try to be fair and reasonable to our customers and promote goodwill where possible. Whilst we will exercise all due care and consideration to carry out Passenger and/or Account Customer instruction we will not be liable for any incidence or loss due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

Transport of Goods

All parcels, packages and goods are taken at customer’s own risk. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure adequate insurance cover is in place for goods in transit.

Right to Refusal

Yellowstar Taxis reserve the right to refuse to carry any persons or objects that the driver deems to be likely to cause them or their vehicle harm or damage in whatsoever form. The judgment of the driver will be final.

Yellowstar Taxis may charge for any costs involved.

Quotes

All quotes, where given, are approximate according to an estimate of miles and time incurred by driver and time of day of travel and type of vehicle required to do a specific journey or taken from a price listing of set fares.

Yellowstar Taxis will try to carry out a journey in a way the Passenger/Booker/Account Customer requests or follow variation unless it’s not possible or unreasonable to do so for example but not a definitive list a road closure, adverse weather conditions. The driver’s decision will be final.

Please be aware any variation to the original quote may incur additional charges.

Charges

Yellowstar Taxis will calculate fares based upon mileage incurred, time and out of pocket expenditure. The charge rate may vary according to the type of vehicle/service required for the journey.

Yellowstar Taxis operate a fixed rates for journeys to or from the local areas to some out-of-town destinations, airports & docks.

Most journeys are quoted travelling via the shortest route. If the route varies from this, e.g. by request from the customer to use a motorway route or the driver must avoid a traffic related problem Yellowstar Taxis reserve the right to charge the Passenger/Account Customer for any extra mileage and time

Cancellations

Yellowstar Taxis assumes a journey / booking request is still valid until:

1. A Passenger/Account Customer or someone deemed to be representing the Passenger/Account Customer cancels the journey with a member of staff in the offices of Yellowstar Taxis and then receives confirmation by text or email from the member of staff that the journey/booking has been cancelled.

2. The driver and or supporting staff have satisfied themselves that they are unable to pick the Passenger up for whatever reason.

Until then we will take all reasonable care to complete the booking.

In the event of a cancellation of a journey Yellowstar Taxis may charge for any costs incurred until the time when it is apparent that Yellowstar Taxis have been satisfactorily informed of a cancellation of booking or Yellowstar Taxis have been unable to contact the Passenger.

Usually there would be no charge for a journey cancelled prior to dispatch.

Please be aware where a journey is cancelled after the driver has been dispatched the Passenger/Account Customer may be liable for a charge.

Where the driver is unable to find a Passenger after making all reasonable efforts the Passenger/Account Customer may be charged

Where a Passenger/Booker (deemed to be representing Passenger or Account Customer)/Account Customer gives incorrect information regarding a pickup place or time or other relevant detail that results in a cost to our driver, the Passenger/Account Customer may be liable for a cancellation charge.

Waiting time

Where a driver must wait beyond the appointed time to collect a Passenger, whether it be the fault of the Passenger/Booker (deemed to be representing Passenger or Account Customer)/Account Customer or arises from circumstances beyond their control, the Passenger/Account Customer will be liable to pay Yellowstar Taxis for the waiting time.

Cancellation Charge

A Cancellation Charge is calculated to pay for the time and miles and incidental costs of our driver when he is unable to pick up a passenger.

Account Customers

It is the responsibility of the Account Customer to ensure adequate security to ensure that the facility is not abused.

The account will be set up with minimal security measures unless the Client specifies their requirements in writing.

Yellowstar Taxis are able to set up various security measures with a prior request in writing from the Client.

The Client will be liable to pay all bookings made on the account in line with the agreed repayment method & timescales

Pre-Paid Bookings By Payment Link

Yellowstar Taxis on some occasions, which will be at Yellowstar Taxis discretion, request that a journey pre-paid before a booking and/or a taxi is despatched. A payment link will be sent to the Passenger/Booker (deemed to be representing Passenger or Account Customer)/Account Customer for payment by Credit or Debit card

Amount will be based on according to an estimate of miles and time incurred by driver and time of day of travel and type of vehicle required to do a specific journey or taken from a price listing of set fares plus 20%. Eg fare calculated at £10, £10 plus 20% = £12)

Please note no charge is applied until journey is completed or cancellation charge applies see Cancellations

The charge deducted from Credit or Debit card will only ever be the actual journey cost which will be confirmed by the driver or a cancellation cost if applicable (see Cancellations)

If for whatever reason the journey cost is more than the amount based on according to an estimate of miles and time incurred by driver and time of day of travel and type of vehicle required to do a specific journey or taken from a price listing of set fares plus 20% then the Passenger/Account Customer will be liable for the difference and pay the driver such in car at the end of the journey.

Any queries/disputes are to be raised in writing within 14 days of Booking/Journey/Cancellation addressed to:
